Terms of Service
HexVault is in early access. Features, pricing, and these terms may change before the public launch. We will let you know before any material changes take effect.
01/Acceptance of terms
Using HexVault, creating an account, or joining the waitlist means you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These terms are between you and HexVault, an independently operated service based in the United Kingdom.
02/The service
HexVault is a zero-knowledge password manager. Your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. The service includes:
- Secure encrypted storage of passwords, notes, and credentials
- HexGuard AI security analysis (Pro and Enterprise plans)
- Breach monitoring via Have I Been Pwned
- TOTP authenticator functionality
- Family vault sharing and secure share links
- Enterprise administration tools (when available)
During early access, the service is provided as-is. We will do our best, but we cannot make guarantees about uptime or feature completeness at this stage.
03/Your account
You need to give us a real email address when signing up. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Telling us straight away if someone gets into your account without permission. Email us at [email protected]
You must be at least 16 to use HexVault.
One account per person. Do not create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge.
04/Your master password
Your master password is the only key to your vault. We do not store it and cannot recover it for you. If you lose your master password, your vault data is gone permanently. There is no way around this.
Keep your master password somewhere safe offline. We cannot help you recover it.
05/Acceptable use
Do not use HexVault to:
- Store or transmit unlawful content
- Try to access our systems or other users' accounts without authorisation
- Reverse engineer or decompile our software
- Damage, disable, or overload the service
- Resell access to the service without our written permission
- Use bots or automation in ways we did not intend
- Break any applicable laws
We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
06/Intellectual property
HexVault, its name, logo, and software are the property of HexVault. Using the service does not give you any rights to our intellectual property.
Everything in your vault belongs to you. We make no claim on it.
07/Payment & free trials
HexVault is free during early access. When billing launches:
- 14-day free trialon all plans, no payment details needed
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, in advance
- Early access members lock in their founding pricing
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel before the renewal date to stop
- Refunds within 14 days of any charge, as long as you have not made heavy use of premium features
Prices are in GBP and include applicable tax.
08/Availability & data integrity
We aim to keep HexVault running reliably, but cannot promise zero downtime. We will occasionally take things offline for maintenance or emergency fixes.
We keep encrypted backups, but we still recommend exporting your vault periodically as a personal safeguard. We are not liable for data loss outside our reasonable control.
You can export your vault at any time from settings. If we ever shut the service down, you will have plenty of time to export first.
09/Limitation of liability
We are not liable for:
- Vault data lost because you forgot your master password
- Indirect or consequential losses from using the service
- Losses caused by things outside our reasonable control
- Loss of vault access due to a forgotten master password. This is unavoidable given how zero-knowledge encryption works
Nothing here removes our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded.
Our total liability for any claim is capped at whatever you paid us in the preceding 12 months, or £50, whichever is more.
10/Termination
You can close your account from settings at any time. Your vault data is deleted within 30 days.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms. Serious violations will happen without warning.
If we ever discontinue HexVault, we will give at least 90 days notice and make sure you can export everything first.
11/Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you at least 14 days before any significant changes take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you are accepting the new terms.
The latest version is always at hexvault.co.uk/terms-of-service.
12/Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
